Borsodnádasd

Borsodnádasd is a small town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county , in the Ózd district .

History 

The establishment of the settlement can be traced back to the period after the Tartar invasion . No diploma or other document is available on its creation. The first documented mention of it dates from 1327 as Nádasd . It got its name from the reeds in the widening of the valley. The following charter is from 1347 . In 1332 he already had a parish. In the Middle Ages , it was owned by the Nádasdy family , among others . The Turks have repeatedly burned down, occupied the territory, and its population has decreased significantly. It began to be repopulated in the 1700s .

The industrial installation started with the opening of the coal mine, after which the plate factory started operating. Borsodnádasd and Bánréve built between the two is one of Hungary’s first steam-powered narrow-gauge railway line, the transferred in March 1873 (Bánrévétől Ózdig November 1872), 1000 mm gauge Bánréve-Ózd-Nádasd railway industry . With the industrialization of the 19th century, the civilization started. From 1903 the name of the settlement is Borsodnádasd.

The village was also affected by the consequences of the crisis in the heavy industry after the change of regime, but managed to stay afloat. It has had a city ​​rank since 2001 .
