Since 1990, when Public Enterprise Water and Sewerage Nikšić was established as a separate company, it has been operating based onthe Decision on Organization (Official Gazette of the RCG – Municipal Regulations, no. 12/90, 12/91, 16/97, and 12/99) and is registered toperform the following tasks:
- Supply of drinking water to the city of Nikšić and settlements in the municipality of Nikšić,
- Use, management, and maintenance of the water supply facilities in the city of Nikšić,
- Construction, management, use, and maintenance of the sewage network facilities,
- Pumping of sewage from septic tanks and their evacuation,
- Expansion of the water supply and sewage network in the city of Nikšić,
- Construction of new water supply systems in populated areas and maintenance of existing facilities serving drinking water supply,
- Provision of mechanization services within the company and to third parties
The activity of the company was expanded based on the Agreement on Takeover no. 261/98, concluded on February 17, 1998, betweenPublic Enterprise Communal and Public Enterprise Water and Sewerage, to include the construction, management, use, andmaintenance of atmospheric sewage facilities.

ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES
Preparation of technical documentation: urban planning plans and projects in the field of hydroengineering, construction projects forhydroengineering facilities, projects for installations, devices, and systems for water supply and sewage,
providing geospatial (cartographic) information for hydroengineering installations.
COLLECTION AND TREATMENT OF WASTE WATER
Collection and transport of municipal and stormwater from the Nikšić area,
maintenance of the sewage system and stormwater systems,
treatment of wastewater from the sewage system.
WATER TESTING AND ANALYSIS
Laboratory testing of drinking water for the needs of the company and other legal and natural persons,
laboratory testing of wastewater for the needs of the company and other legal and natural persons.
CONSTRUCTION OF WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE INSTALLATIONS
Installation of water supply and sewage systems, including extension, adaptation, maintenance, and repairs.

This year, the United Nationsis marking World Water Day with a global public debate on how people value water and all its forms of use. Valuing water meansrecognizing and considering all the diverse benefits and risks that water provides, encompassing its economic, social, and ecologicaldimensions, as well as its various cultural and religious meanings. The value of water is much greater than its price, as it plays a crucialrole in households, healthcare, culture, education, the economy, and the integrity of our natural environment. If we overlook any of theseimportance, we risk poor management of this irreplaceable resource.
