Esbjerg Art Museum

Denmark

Exciting museum of modern art and contemporary art, known for functioning as an experimentarium, where both children and adults can have surprising experiences.

At the museum, artists are often given free rein to try out different ideas, just as traditional perceptions of what an exhibition is are often challenged and rethought. This means that art is presented in new ways – for example in the context of music and science.

In the museum’s aesthetic laboratory, everyone is invited to experiment with colors, illusions and optical tricks, while the many interactive communication items invite personal engagement and immersion.

In the fragrance installation Wittgenstein’s garden, you have to use the sense of smell to evoke your own images, while the open magazines offer pull-out walls filled with paintings.
