With an impressive collection of modern Danish art by the greatest contemporary artists, you will undoubtedly have a great experience at Horsens Art Museum – whether you love art or if the world of art is new to you.
A center for modern Danish contemporary art
As a beautiful and distinctive building, Horsens Art Museum rises on top of the park Caroline Amalie Lund, who with her beauty draws you inside.
The museum has modern Danish art as its focal point and a collection that provides an insight into what is moving on the Danish art scene. The collection contains works by the greatest newer Danish artists and has an experimental character from the beautiful to the grotesque and thought-provoking. The works give rise to dialogue, wonder and reflection.
Then take the family with you and have a chat about art, beauty, life and society on the tour around the bright and inviting showrooms.
Experience large collections of, among others, these artists:
- Bjørn Nørgaard
- Erik A. Frandsen
- Michael Kvium
- Nina Sten-Knudsen
- Christian Lemmerz
- Cathrine Raben Davidsen
- Rose Oak
Denmark’s largest Michael Kvium collection
One of the museum’s central artists is the Horsens-born Michael Kvium, who has an entire hall dedicated to him. Here, the museum’s large collection of works is constantly rotated, so you experience something new every time you visit the museum. Kvium’s grotesque, fascinating and at times repulsive presentation of the human body has made him one of the country’s most significant and popular visual artists. Kvium’s art divides the waters.
Exciting special exhibitions
