Merimaailma Sea Life Helsinki is part of the Europe-wide Sea Life chain owned by Merlin Entertainments , which is the world’s largest public aquarium chain.

Suomen Merimaailma Sea Life Aquarium Center is located in Alppila, Helsinki , in connection with Linnanmäki Amusement Park . The center is owned by Merlin Entertainment Group. Helsinki Sea Life began operations in 2002. 

Helsinki Merimaailma Sea Life consists of about 50 aquariums, the sizes of which range from about one hundred liters to 250,000 liters in a large ocean basin. The purpose of the center is to present the world’s marine animals, offer visitors experiences and share information about marine protection.Octopus in Helsinki Sea Life.

Sea Life has both a permanent collection and changing exhibitions. The permanent collection is divided into geographically divided sections, which are the igapó rainforest , the tropics with coral reefs and seagrass meadows , the ocean basin and the Baltic and North Seas and the fresh waters of Finland. In addition, a few marine animals have their own compartments: these include jellyfish and seahorses . The largest pools are the ocean pool that serves as the home of the zebra , as well as rays and codinhabited by a cold water pool. There is a 10-meter tunnel under the ocean basin. One of the novelties is the Experience Pool Area, which opened in January 2017.
