At Niekée VMBO you will work from day one with the four VMBO profiles Production, Installation and Energy (PIE), Media Design and ICT (MVI), Care & Welfare (Z&W) and Horeca, Bakery and Recreation (HBR). In well-equipped practice rooms and laboratories you can discover many hours a week from year 1 which profile and profession suits you best. We coordinate the other courses accordingly.

At Niekée-VMBO, you are active in our workshops and laboratories for at least ten hours a week from the first year. You will work with all kinds of technology and building, but also with robotics, 3D printing, baking, cooking, painting, dance, theater, music, virtual reality, care, hairdresser, recreation, modern media, catering, healthcare …. From the first year you start to experiment, discover, make and try out very varied.

Usually in our own workshops, but sometimes also at workplaces outside the school. In this way you get to know the many professions that exist in a playful way. This is all done under the guidance of our passionate teachers. They give you all the freedom, but you also have to adhere to a number of rules and agreements in order to achieve the best result.

Niekée has two departments: Agora and Niekée-VMBO. Since 2007, we have been providing pre-vocational education from the basic vocational track to the mixed and theoretical track. And we will continue to do so, next to Agora. From the 2019-2020 school year, we offer four VMBO profiles *: PIE, HBR, Z&W and MVI. This gives you a wide choice of education and transfer options.

We believe that practical training for pre-vocational secondary education students is very important. But it is just as important that you get enough theory from us. That we teach you to do and think. Our teachers take care of that. This applies to subjects such as Dutch, English and mathematics, but of course also to all other knowledge you need to be able to survive in life. A test, a point, a report and sometimes homework: it’s all part of it.
