Oncology physiotherapy

“I have cancer and would like to stay fit during chemotherapy.”
“Since I have cancer, I am so tired, can you help me with that too?”

The patient with cancer can benefit greatly from physiotherapy, but it is very important that this is done by a specialist. In oncology physiotherapy, widely varying circumstances and acute situations are taken into account. Cancer patients can rely on this physiotherapy care at any stage of their disease (acute, convalescence and palliative).
During the treatment (individually or in a group), the following is taken into account:

  • the nature of the condition
  • the treatment undergone
  • the psychosocial aspects

With which complaints can you go to the oncology physiotherapist
(after any surgery, radio, chemotherapy and hormone therapy):

  • Fatigue
  • Loss of condition
  • Consequences of operations
  • Stress complaints
  • Disturbed body perception
  • Pain
  • Scars
  • Functional disorders such as loss of strength and mobility disorders
  • Lymphedema

Edema therapy – Manual lymph drainage Vodder

The body consists for 2/3 part of fluid, which is located in and around all body cells, the blood vessels, lymph channels and the brain channels. Many processes run through this body fluid; including transport of hormones, nerve impulses, bacteria or harmful substances.

The body is in optimal balance when the water balance / lymph is in optimal condition.

Lymph drainage is therefore a normal, natural function in our body, which can be complicated not only by congenital problems, but also as a result of an accident, illness or stress. In this case, lymph drainage can be optimized manually.

The special thing about the Vodder Manual lymph drainage is that it is not only aimed at a draining effect of the lymphatic system, but especially at the nourishing and purifying effect of the body fluid. It is a holistic treatment where the human being in the whole counts.

MLDV is a soft massage form that can be applied to the entire body. Its purpose is to stimulate fluid flow and to eliminate any blockages, to increase immunity (resistance), to lower stress and to optimize the hormonal system. The water balance is directly influenced by the stimulation of the lymph system and indirectly by damping the increased stress level in the body.

Treatable complaints are;

  • Edema / swelling both visible and invisible. Consider, for example, swelling after oncological procedures, trauma / surgery, venous edema
