Hotel Waldinger is the first hotel with four stars in Osijek, with three star Pansion Waldinger as its integral part. It is located in Županijska street, in the most beautiful location in the very centre of the city.
The century-old Art Nouveau building of Hotel Waldinger is protected as a cultural and environmental monument, which was designed and enriched with relief ornaments by architect and sculptor Antun Slaviček, Osijek Art Nouveau artist.
The hotel is named after Adolf Ignjo Waldinger, Osijek painter from the 19th century, creator of the phenomenon known as “Osijek School of Painting” in the history of art.
An interesting fact is that opening of the hotel in 2004 coincided with the centennial of the construction of the building in which the hotel is located, as well as with the centennial of the death of the painter whose name the hotel carries.
