From Treasury to Museum: Zepter Museum in Belgrade
Step into a building where history, architecture, and culture converge. Located on the iconic Knez Mihailova Street, the Zepter Museum was originally built in the 1920s as the First Croatian Savings Bank, designed by renowned Croatian architect Dionis Andrija Sunko. Today, it stands as a vibrant cultural institution, seamlessly blending historic elegance with modern museum functionality.
The building’s main façade, inspired by Berlin Secession palaces, is one of the rare examples of Berlin and Hungarian Secession architecture in Belgrade. Inside, the interiors resemble a gallery more than a traditional office, offering a refined and inspiring space for art exhibitions.
Thanks to a meticulous reconstruction by Studio Urošević, the museum preserves the building’s historical spirit while providing state-of-the-art spaces for showcasing art. Symbolically, the transformation from bank to museum reflects a poetic continuity: both are treasuries—one of money, the other of masterpieces.
Experience a place where architecture meets art, and history meets modernity. Discover the Zepter Museum, a true jewel in Belgrade’s cultural heart.
