Over half a century, the Montenegrin company 13.jul-Plantaže represents one of the greatest and most important producers of grapes, wines and grape brandy in Southeastern Europe.
It owns a unique vineyard in a single complex, covering impressive area of cc.2.300 ha. Nowadays, Plantaže produces cc.22 million kilos of grapes annually, selling more than 16 million bottled products in over 40 countries in the world.
Our company, as one of the most successful Montenegrin companies has a thousand years long Montengrin tradition of viticulture and wine making and it focuses its attention at autochtonous grape varieties and authentic Montenegrin wine, reflecting Montenegrin culture and spirit of the unique area, located between the sea and mountains. That passion has not withered even after half a century.
Plantaže is recognisable by the authentic wines, made of the authentic grape varieties. Each wine is different because it has been made in a particular place and in a single vineyard. Wine Cellars
Company 13. Jul – Plantaže has three wine cellars.
Lješkopolje, the company’s oldest wine cellar, has been renovated and transformed into a space for aging special, limited edition of wines, as well as for experimental vinification. Around 100 micro-vinifications are made per year in this basement.
Ćemovsko polje – most of the wine production takes place in this basement. It’s has brand new equipment and the latest global trends in production and technology are applied right here.
Šipčanik, a majestic wine cellar and former military airport, has been transformed into an impressive space for aging wine, located in the heart of the vineyard. The basement is positioned at an average depth of over 30 meters below ground. In the form of a spiral tunnel, 356 meters long, with an average width of 13.5 meters and height of 7 meters, it extends to over 7000 square meters. The temperature is almost constant and is between 17 and 19 degrees, while humidity is 80%. Šipčanik represents a real treasure for the Plantaže company and all our visitors, where at any given time, two million liters of wine are left to age.
