The company was established at the V extraordinary Shareholders’ Assembly on December 22, 2010, when a decision was made on the restructuring of Montenegro Railways AD – Podgorica through separation and the establishment of a new company, the Joint Stock Company ‘Railway Rolling Stock Maintenance’ Podgorica.
Sector for the Maintenance of Traction Vehicles
The scope of work within the organizational unit of the Sector for the Maintenance of Traction Vehicles includes the following:
- Maintenance of railway traction vehicles,
- Tasks related to the implementation of legal and subordinate regulations (rules, instructions, agreements, etc.) in the field of traction vehicle maintenance,
- Analyses and records in the field of railway traction vehicle maintenance,
- Development and improvement of the scope of work in the field of railway traction vehicle maintenance,
- Preparation of maintenance plans and programs for railway traction vehicles, as well as plans for the procurement of spare parts and repairs of assemblies,
- Monitoring work during the execution of investment repairs by repairers, based on the orders and requests of the vehicle owners.
The Sector for the Maintenance of Traction Vehicles is managed by the Director of the Sector.
Depot Podgorica
The main task of the Depot Podgorica for the maintenance of traction vehicles is the process of planned and unplanned maintenance of the same, with the goal of ensuring the implementation of the planned timetable and the safe operation of railway traffic. Depot Podgorica operates as an organizational unit within the Sector for the Maintenance of Traction Vehicles.
The Depot consists of the following facilities:
- Maintenance hall for traction vehicles
- Wheel profile machining facility (underground lathe).”
Service Podgorica
The main task of Service Podgorica is to perform daily inspections and unplanned repairs (within its capabilities) on traction vehicles to ensure the realization of the planned timetable and the safe operation of railway traffic.
Facilities, equipment, and devices of the service
The Service has a track for performing service inspections and unplanned repairs (within its capabilities) on traction vehicles, which has the following purpose:

In addition to the Service room in Podgorica, there are the following facilities: a room for the external locomotive inspector, office space for the Podgorica pumping station, and fuel storage tanks for fueling locomotives, as well as space for the storage of lubricants, also for supplying locomotives as needed.
Depot Bar
Depot Bar operates as an organizational unit within the Sector for the Maintenance of Traction Vehicles, with its headquarters in Podgorica. The main task of Depot Bar is the planned and unplanned maintenance of electric locomotives of series 461, with the goal of ensuring the realization of the planned timetable and the safe operation of railway traffic.
The Depot consists of the following facilities:
- Electro maintenance facility
- Mechanical maintenance facility
- Electronics facility.
Service Bar
The main task of Service Bar is to perform service inspections and unplanned repairs (within its capabilities) on traction vehicles to ensure the realization of the planned timetable and the safe operation of railway traffic.
