Agricultural Cooperative “Trlić” (Serbian: ZZ Trlić) is one of the most successful meat industries in our country—and rightfully recognized as a leading player in the entire region. Today, ZZ “Trlić” stands behind 20 long and challenging years of hard work, accompanied by the sweet fruits of its dedication.
Živojin Jovanović, the director, made the decision to enter the fresh meat and meat processing business back in 1995. The journey of this major company began with a small butcher shop in Železnik and a modest farm in Trlić near Ub. The early days were tough. With only basic second-hand equipment and facilities located on the family property, achieving high-quality meat production was a challenge. It was necessary to continue investing in the development of the entire project while also ensuring timely payment of wages and fulfilling obligations to the state. On top of that, livestock had to be paid for regularly, all while waiting for delayed payments for the company’s own products.
Despite all of these challenges, the company never operated at a loss, nor has its business account ever been frozen—a testament to the responsibility and integrity of its leadership team.
Today, “Trlić” Meat Industry is a well-recognized brand in Serbia, as well as in Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia. The quality of its meat products is confirmed by numerous awards and certifications from both domestic and international certification bodies. The company operates modern production facilities for around 100 different items, all under the HACCP and ISO 22000 quality standards.
Agricultural Cooperative “Trlić” supplies a large number of customers on the domestic market with high-quality fresh meat. From its modest beginnings of 200 m², the company has grown to a production and retail space of 11,500 m² and now employs over 500 workers. The company operates 18 stores and 1 supermarket, with a new 1,400 m² supermarket soon to open in Ub.
It is also worth noting its cooperation with major retail chains in Serbia, including Metro, Aman, Idea, Mercator, Interex, and SuperVero, as well as with the entire “Domaći trgovinski lanac” group.
