Animal Park Valcorba

Italy

In 1990 the Valcorba Wildlife Park began work with the laying of the first stones followed by the planting of trees and the creation of the first exhibits . After years of hard work, the gates were finally opened in 2000!

Currently the park covers an area of 200,000 square meters, shaded by about 22,000 plants and welcomes animals of over 70 species housed in large studied departments, built with natural materials (stone, wood, plants and … a lot of passion) and continuously renewed for the their specific needs.

The old concept of the zoo, intended as an exhibition of animals, has been abolished by us and is not part of our way of thinking and being.
For us, the Park is a tool for teaching  respect for nature in all its forms … whoever enters can only be fascinated and inspired by the enormous wealth that nature offers us. Our hope is that the visitor will come out aware that the future of these wonders depends exclusively on the “good education” of our small daily gestures that often come into conflict with the delicate natural balance.

The Park is a member of UIZA (Italian Union of Zoos and Aquariums) and of its working group of educators ( Eduzoo )  through which new campaigns and awareness-raising projects are always created and launched. Furthermore, since October 2018 it has joined an even more important and prestigious association, EAZA , the European association that brings together the best zoos and aquariums on the continent.
