School and its history

The current educational subject – OA, SOŠ and SOU Třeboň was established by merging four schools – in 2004 SOU zemědělského Třeboň and Integrated Secondary School of Glassmaking Chlum u Třeboně, in 2006 SOŠ, SOU and OU Třeboň with SPŠ oděvní Třeboň and in 2012 SOŠ and SOU, Třeboň with Business Academy Třeboň.

Teaching honest craftsmanship

The original Trade Licensing School in Třeboň began teaching in a new building (now 567 Vrchlického Street) in 1938. Over the years, the school has taught a number of subjects. In 1950, it moved under the Center for Agricultural Mechanization (ÚMEZ) and began to specialize in technical fields such as locksmith, mechanical locksmith, tractor-repairman. Later, teaching focused on the fields of repair of agricultural machinery and car mechanics, and the name of the school was changed to SOU zemědělské Třeboň.
In 2004, the operation of the glassworks in Chlum near Třeboň was terminated. Its closure had fatal consequences for the teaching of glassmaking in southern Bohemia. ISŠ sklářská had to leave a seven-storey building, which it had used since its construction in the 1960s.

In 2006, as part of the optimization of schools, the Secondary Industrial School of Clothing was added as the number of students at this school decreased. With the opening of new fields, this building was successfully filled with students and today it is part of the school.

In 2012, there was a similar problem at the Business Academy, Třeboň, so this school was also connected.

Merger of schools

Fortunately, the merger did not disrupt or worsen the professional training of individual fields, as they only expanded the offer of the original agricultural school – today the school uses the name OA, SOŠ and SOU, Třeboň.

At present, the school provides secondary education in the fields of repair, art glass, clothing, economics and services.
