Copenhagen Fertility Center wants to give the children we help to bring into the world a good start in life. We have chosen to do this in a somewhat indirect way for the individual child, namely by doing something good for the whole world in which they are to grow up.
In collaboration with the organization TroFaCo, we plant a tree for every child who has come into the world with the help of our clinics. The number of children is made up every year and the trees are planted the following year. The more children we make, the more trees we plant.
In 2019, it became approx. 750 children, therefore we have planted 750 trees in 2020 with the help of TroFaCo and local associations in Uganda.
The trees are planted by local agricultural associations on private common areas e.g. near churches or schools, where they are secured and benefit many.
It is guaranteed that the trees will stand for a minimum of 20 years, but most will probably stand there much longer.
TroFaCo has a conservative estimate that says that our first 750 trees will bind approx. 2250 tonnes of CO2 over the next 20 years.
We know very well that our little “tree per. baby ”project, is just a drop in the ocean, but it’s a start, and we hope it can also inspire our patients to think about the whole world they let their children grow up in.
