The Regional Conservatory of Baixo Alentejo is a non-profit association, similar to the Public Utility Institution, constituted with the main objective of implementing a School of Arts for the Region of Baixo Alentejo and Alentejo Litoral, with training and activities in the areas of music, dance, theater and fine arts. In pursuit of the objectives that guided its appearance, the Conservatory based its mission on three strategic vectors:

·          Vocational teaching of the arts

·          Other training activities

·          Cultural promotion and dissemination.

In the field of specialized artistic education, the Conservatory develops training in the areas of music and dance, a training superiorly recognized by the Ministry of Education. For the other arts, conditions are being prepared that allow, in a short period of time, to start regular training activities.

The Conservatory, within the other training activities, is responsible for the organization and implementation:              

·          Training courses for instrumentalists in Alentejo;

·          Workshops in the areas of music and dance;

·          Jazz Club  (activity that aims to promote and disseminate this musical genre throughout the Alentejo);

·          Music for early childhood.

In the area of ​​dynamism and cultural dissemination, the Conservatory promotes activities with students and teachers   throughout Baixo Alentejo and cooperates in cultural activities organized by other institutions.
