Enskilda Högskolan Stockholm (EHS), formerly Theological University of Stockholm (THS), is a privately owned private university at Equmenia Church at Åkeshovsvägen 29 in Bromma in Stockholm , with educations in theology , religious studies and human rights . The university is located at Campus Bromma on Åkeshovsvägen 29 in Nockebyhov and shares the campus with Bromma folk high school . In 2018, the university changed its name to Enskilda Högskolan Stockholm, with two subdivisions: the University of Human Rights (HMR) and the Stockholm University of Theology (THS).
Educational Programs
At the university, there are several educational programs
- Theological program at bachelor’s, master’s and master’s level, mainly for future priests and pastors , but also for other theologically interested.
- Religion, culture, society, a religious studies program at the bachelor’s level.
- Eastern Church Studies at Master’s, Master’s and Master’s level, in English, mainly for the educational needs of the Orthodox Churches, in collaboration with St. Ignatio’s Spiritual Academy
- Human rights at the bachelor and master level, one of the oldest human rights trainings.
- Postgraduate education in theology, with the postgraduate subjects bible science, systematic theology, practical theology and church history, as well as Eastern church studies.
Subject areas
- Human rights deals with the regulations for civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights based on legal and moral philosophical theory formation.
- Biblical studies are about history and text interpretation, see exegetics . It also includes teaching the biblical languages Hebrew and Greek .
- Church history with missionary science , includes the history of the Christian church and the various Christian communities of today .
- Practical theology with religious behavioral science includes homiletics , religious psychology and pastoral care , religious pedagogy , sociology of religion, ecclesiology, hymnology and leadership .
- History of religion includes the study of the major world religions.
- Systematic theology deals with philosophy , ethics and dogma
- Eastern Church studies are about the Eastern Churches’ texts, history, liturgy and development. This also includes teaching in the liturgical language of the Orthodox Churches.
