Esbjerg Realskole is the city’s oldest private school with proud traditions that go back more than 125 years. We focus on education and community when, with the help of our values of security, professionalism and dialogue, we send education-ready students out of school. We have a curious outlook and strive to take the lead while appreciating our traditions.
We are a versatile and goal-oriented school with an optimistic culture and an open environment that embraces all disciplines, different attitudes and constructive inputs. We take care of each other and succeed together.
Our mission is to develop each child’s potential and educate professionally strong, caring and creative children. We put the children at the center and create a safe environment where formation takes place through cooperation and developing dialogue. The children meet committed teachers and educators – who take time for the individual.
Everything we do aims to create the best setting for the kids. We take our hearts to work every day, and make sure that our students thrive. At the same time, we dress them with the high professionalism that characterizes Esbjerg Realskole.
The school’s highest authority is the board, which is elected by the parents at the annual general meeting. The board has the full responsibility for the school’s operation, which is handled on a daily basis by the school’s management.
The school’s parents are automatically members of the “Parents’ Association”, which provides support for cultural events at the school. The board of the parents’ association also supports the publication of the school magazine “Blækuglen”.
Each class chooses a “class council” that supports the class’s events.
An external supervisor is attached to the school, who is elected for two years at a time at the general meeting. The supervisor must ensure that the teaching at all times is at least in line with that offered by the primary and lower secondary school.
