The history of Hotel Aziza is the history of the Poričanin family, the love of Mehmed and Aziza, the family they raised together and the bonds that hold it.
The history starts in 1967 when Aziza came to work in a shop near Mehmed’s bakery in Baščaršija. It was love at first sight. One glance at each other was enough for them to fall in love. Three years of courtship, nervous laughs and secret winks were followed by marriage.
The following years, their love will give them three beautiful daughters that will enlighten their lives, Amela, Selma and Almedina who also will bring three sons-in-law and six grandchildren.
The hotel is located in Baščaršija between avlijas (gardens of the houses where people use to hang out together), just like Aziza interlaced her hands in between Mehmed’s hands when she used to shelter from the winter frost. Also, when the sun rises in the morning, the hotel lights up like the face of Aziza when Mehmed used to look at her and she pretended not to see him.
This hotel is the reflection of everything Mehmed and Aziza cherish the most: family, security, gentleness and the love they feel for each other and their family. The hotel irradiates a welcoming energy and hospitality on the outside as well as on the inside and offers shelter to its guests for when they are far from home.
The hotel is built with strong and durable natural materials, just like the love of Aziza and Mehmed, is strong and lasting. Every detail reflects the love history of Mehmed and Aziza, even the numbers of the rooms tell the family history, as each of them represents an important date for the Poričanin family.

Double Room
Stay in our cosy double rooms and rest as if you were at your own home. Our big and bright rooms are equipped with a king-size bed or two twin beds, with the possibility of adding an extra bed in some of the rooms.
Each room has its own bathroom with oriental style ornamentation; TV LCD, minibar, air-condition and heating, safe and kettle for coffee and tea.
