Sukošan

Sukošan is a small town (place) situated in a wide bay called Golden Harbour /Zlatna Luka,on a coastal Adriatic road 7 km south – east of Zadar. The economy is based on tourism, farming, vineyard farming, olive and fruit growing. The town has about 3,000 residents. There are a kindergarten, an elementary school with equipped sports hall, medical and dental practices, and everything else that makes this place very pleasant/enjoyable to live throughout the year, and it is recognised by many as the ideal place for a vacation.

The fact that there are over 3000 beds in luxurious apartments, pensions and hotels, and numerous well visited campsites situated near the sea, proves that this is indeed a tourist place. It became a real paradise for sailors thanks to the Marina “Dalmacija”.

Sukošan as an ideal starting point for day trips


The extremely indented coast, islands and untouched nature lures many boaters to this area. An archipelago of 24 larger and as many as 300 small islands and cliffs, 3 nature parks – Telašćica, Velebit and Vransko jezero and 5 national parks – Paklenica, Plitvice, Kornati, Krka and North Velebit place Sukošan and its surroundings at the top of the tourist offer in Croatia.

Marina Dalmacija
The largest yacht harbor in Dalmatia, located in Zlatna luka bay in Zadar, has more than 1700 transport links, 1200 of them by the sea and 500 by land. Within the marina there is a beautiful beach, all for the repair and maintenance of ships, supermarkets, restaurants, charters and agencies. The marina is built to world standards and has space for vessels up to 55 meters in length, as well as its own seawater desalination plant with minimal impact on the environment.

The city of Zadar – 12 km drive
A few minutes drive separates Sukosan from Zadar, the regional center of North Dalmatia and a world-renowned destination that is definitely worth a visit. The city of Zadar developed on the peninsula where it was founded by the Romans, and over the course of its long and tumultuous history, the city grew and developed to be today the leader of the economic and tourist development of the region and its administrative center.

Biograd na Moru – 18 km drive
Formerly the crowning city of Croatian kings, Biograd na moru is today a famous tourist and especially nautical center in the heart of the Adriatic coast. The small town (town), which has grown to a size suitable for human life, lies on a peninsula surrounded by modern marinas and a waterfront that offers an unforgettable view of one of the most picturesque sea straits, the Pasman Channel and the islands scattered throughout it.

Nature park Vransko jezero – 27 km drive
Traveling along the Adriatic Highway towards northern Dalmatia, between the two rich history of the cities of Sibenik and Zadar, you will see the natural phenomenon of the proximity of two equally beautiful, yet so different blue. On the one hand the indented Adriatic coast, known for its alluring beauty and cleanliness, and on the other, the largest natural lake in Croatia.
