Paradise is a lemon garden
An island in the Mediterranean Sea, a fishing village, 150 lemon trees, 3 old manor houses, a private beach, and a pool in a blossoming garden. Welcome to the Heritage Hotel Lemongarden on the island of Brač.
A fishing village with 5-star comfort.
The Lemongarden is not in Sutivan but IS Sutivan – an integral part and the beating heart of this old town.
Authentic old and prospering
The bar, gelateria, restaurant, and café are directly on the harbor promenade, and the reception area is in a romantic spot only a few meters from the sea. The rooms and suites are spread out over 3 lovingly renovated, 300-year-old houses in the center of town.
When you return home in the evening, you don’t have to go through a lobby or long hotel corridors but through old alleyways, through which the residents of Sutivan also walk home – the same ones you will meet again in the morning at breakfast as they are just stepping onto their boat or unlocking their shops.
The hotel is part of the village, and the village is part of the hotel – there is no clear separation between the two. With 2 exceptions: the blooming lemon garden with pool and the spa, which are surrounded by a centuries-old stone wall and reserved only for hotel guests. And the beach, just outside the resort, is also private.
True luxury isn’t always expensive, it’s just very, very rare
The Lemongarden isn’t just a hotel but an attempt to create one of those rare places where all the little things come together perfectly – the most important details that make a difference between a normal luxury hotel and paradise.
Here is a small selection of priceless things that you get for your money here – from luxurious space and freshly baked bread to sustainably caught, fresh fish.
Space & tranquility
The greatest luxury is having plenty of space and tranquility. Helena Ramsbacher is convinced of this – and there is plenty of both on the island of Brač.
Fresh, homemade bread
Fresh from the oven. Because really good bread is hard to find, we bake it ourselves at the Lemongarden. Every day, at least once. For breakfast, we serve it still warm from the oven so that the moist crumbs gently steam when the crispy crust is cut open.
Fresh catch
Fish from the surrounding sea. Fishermen on the island of Brač have been fishing in the surrounding sea for many thousands of years: shrimp, muscles, small, tasty fish such as mackerel or goatfish, and occasionally large, now rare species such as tuna and swordfish.
No cars
The center of Sutivan is car-free. The promenade and small, charming streets around the Lemongarden belong only to those taking a stroll, cyclists, ice cream eaters, patrons enjoying a break at the coffee house, dinner guests, and port admirers.
Our own organic olive oil
There are far more olive trees than people on the island of Brač. The gnarled, barely two meters high trees cover a good part of the island, and their small height makes it easy to forget that some of them are many centuries old.
Mindfulness
Housekeeping consciously and eco-friendly. We wish our guests the most pleasant, beautiful stay here with us. At the same time, we want to help ensure our guests’ future generations also have something to look forward to.
Adults only
Children and adults sometimes have different needs and ideas about vacations – and both should have the chance to meet those needs. The Lemongarden is therefore an adults-only hotel: our guests must be at least 14 years old.
Organic vegetable garden
Fully ripe and juicy. A tomato or eggplant still warm from the Brač sun and picked from the vine only a few minutes ago or thyme and rosemary fresh from the bush are a luxury that you can’t buy – you can only grow it yourself.
Appreciation
The soul of the house. There is only one thing that is as important to Helena Ramsbacher as the well-being of her guests: the well-being of her employees.
