By decision of the Мunicipal Аdministration, public urban transport in Belgrade was organized as a separate municipal service in October 1892, under the name Belgrade City Railway. During its existence, the service operated under different names: Tram and Lighting Directorate, Belgrade Electric and Transportation Company, City Transport Company, City Transport “Beograd” Working Organization, and now, based on the Founder’s Decision of December 21, 1989 – it operates as a public utility company under the name: City Transport Company ”Beograd”.

GSP respects tradition and cherishes historical heritage, and October 14th is celebrated as the Company Day.

The main activity of PUC GSP ”Beograd” is the transportation of passengers in urban and suburban traffic. The company also performs the following activities:
