Due to the geographical location of the Gábor Kátai Hospital, it provides healthcare services in the eastern part of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county. It is the only inpatient care institution within a radius of 60-70 km between Debrecen and Szolnok and Eger and Gyula. In addition, it performs primary care tasks, nursing, dental and specialist inpatient care, and active, chronic nursing inpatient care and patient transport activities for nearly 100,000 residents. During the reconstruction, which started in 2000, the infrastructure was renovated, and in 2008 the main building of the hospital was renovated. Two main inpatient units developed, one of the matrix of internal medicine nature and the other of matrix of surgical nature.
