Livno Gymnasium was founded immediately after the Second World War. More precisely, it was founded by the decision of the founder of the Livno City People’s Committee of March 4, 1946. In the beginning, it was a lower real grammar school, but later it grew into a higher real grammar school, ie a general grammar school. The first generation of high school graduates graduated in the school year 1957/58. years. This continuity was maintained until the school year 1980/81. when there is a reform of secondary education which abolishes gymnasiums as general schools which lasts until the school year 1990/91. when education is reintroduced with the aim of acquiring secondary education according to the curriculum for general gymnasiums. In the time between these two periods, the staff of the construction, health, chemical-technological, mathematical-physical-computer and educational-cultural-translation professions are educated in the gymnasium building. In several school years, due to the need for local health care, one department of the health profession was enrolled in the Gymnasium for the profession of nurse-technician. This school year marks the departure of the 58th generation of high school graduates.
