From a Family Dream to a Recognized Meat Brand
At the beginning of 1990, our grandfather Živan Vučetić, a skilled butcher, together with his son Milorad, decided to transform their knowledge and craft into a small business. We started with a modest general goods store and a single refrigerated meat display. Slaughtering and transport were outsourced — we were just merchants. The business quickly took off, and the general store soon became “Mesara Mačvanka.” It was named after our daughter-in-law Slobodanka, originally from Crna Bara, who owned it until 2015 when she handed it over to her son. Over time and through changing generations, our vision evolved — from a small family shop to a well-known name throughout the Republic of Serbia.
In 2006, Milorad Vučetić and his sons Milan and Dragan built their own slaughterhouse and meat processing facility in Majur, with the aim of closing the supply chain for the store in Šabac. The new facility opened up new opportunities, and we began offering slaughtering and meat-cutting services for others as well.
In 2011, we began our cooperation with DIS markets across Serbia. As they grew, we grew. The increasing demand for fresh meat and ready-made products took our business to new levels and required the hiring of more employees. With large cooling capacities, slaughter services became the primary activity of the company. In recent years, we also introduced carbon dioxide (CO₂) stunning for pigs.
Continuous investment and innovation keep us competitive in the market — which is our goal.
Nonetheless, our core remains the original retail store, always supplied with fresh meat and products.
As time went on, we expanded our product range — all based on traditional recipes, using a minimal amount of additives.

Our Vision
To ensure that the production facility “MKR Mačvanka”, located at Prote Smiljanića 63, 15000 Šabac (veterinary control number 929), meets all sanitary, hygiene, and technical-technological standards required by modern meat science and technology.
We have a new facility and a modern slaughterhouse for hooved animals (cattle and pigs), including primary processing, cooling, and meat cutting. We also have a plant for the processing of poultry and hooved animals, as well as refrigeration, freezing, and storage for minced meat, semi-finished meat products, and processed meat products.

The company employs around 70 people across main operations, management, and support processes.
Quality and Safety Commitment
In full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for product quality and safety, MKR Mačvanka began implementing the modern HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) system in 2017 across all major processes. As part of the preparatory phase, the facility was expanded and upgraded. Hygiene and sanitation standards were elevated to fully meet the modern requirements of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
