Above the village Smolotely 17 km from Příbram on the top of a wooded hill called Maková Hora is the pilgrimage church of St. John the Baptist and the Virgin Mary of Carmel, an important place of pilgrimage and one of the most beautiful examples of high Baroque architecture sensitively placed in the landscape.

Services at Maková take place every third Sunday of the month from 2 pm Mass is celebrated.

From the month of May to November, the Marian Saturdays are always the first Saturday of the month from 10:00 devotion and from 11:00 Holy Mass.

Services are also held at Easter, on the Makovská pilgrimage, at Christmas and on New Year’s Eve.
