The plan for its construction dates back to the 1970s, when the FIS commission at the World Championships for Classic Skiing Disciplines in 1970 in the High Tatras decided to build the 6th and also the last mammoth bridge in the world, in some socialist countries. The third variant on the recommendation of the expert and FIS official Mr. Miloslav Bělonožník won and in 1978, when only funds were secured for complete accompanying investments , Skicentrum, roads, tracks and more, construction has begun. The investor was ČÚV ČSTV and to a large extent MěNV Harrachov with the then chairman Mr. Václav Hadrava and in the preparation and implementation of the construction with ing. Ludvík Šablatůra. In 1980, the first race in the ski years took place on the P 120 / later marked K 180 / and in 1983 the 7th World Ski Championships, when the previous world record was broken by the 181 m harrach. athlete Pavel Ploc.
