Much of what you can or want to do later, you already have within you. The Marecollege is a Waldorf school, which means that we strive for a broad personal development. This development goes further than teaching cognitive skills and knowledge, because good education is more than professional knowledge such as mathematics and geography. With us you develop social skills, morality, responsibility, inventiveness and creativity. We help you to choose your own path and become who you are.

Thinking, doing and feeling

We believe that broad personal development requires a versatile educational approach. With us, all subjects are devoted to doing, feeling and thinking. Two parallel lines intersecting in infinity, that’s more than just math. That is art, philosophy and the division of agricultural land in ancient Babylonia. Because you always have the same subject every morning for three weeks, there is a lot of room for deepening.

In the middle of the world

We are not separate from the world, but in the middle of it. Sometimes literally, such as during our surveying expeditions in the fourth grade. You measure land on Terschelling, apply what you have learned in mathematics, geography and physics and draw your own map. You will also go on an internship twice to learn more about different professions. We strive for excellent quality in everything we do. We adhere to current government standards and our success rates are above average.
