OUH Company basis
The purpose of the document ‘OUH company basis’ is to make visible the basis that is a common basis for management, operation and development at all levels in the organization OUH. The corporate foundation includes the organization’s mission and vision, development plan and overall personnel policy values.
The document concerns employees at the hospital, but can also be read by patients and relatives, authorities and external partners.

Our ambition is to be the “Patient’s University Hospital”. This is our approach when we at OUH together must create value for patients. We fulfill that promise to patients by living out our values: “Patient first”, “Highest professionalism” and “Holiness and responsibility”
OUH Odense University Hospital – Svendborg Hospital (OUH) is one of the country’s largest hospitals.
OUH is both the Funen hospital and at the same time receives patients with complicated diagnoses from the entire region. It provides a recording area that covers approx. 1.2 million citizens. In addition, the hospital treats patients from all over the country in need of highly specialized treatment in a number of areas.
Key figures for OUH
OUH Odense University Hospital – Svendborg Hospital treats patients from Funen for a number of common diseases.
At the University Hospital in Odense, patients from the rest of Denmark and in some cases from abroad are also treated for complicated disorders such as: cardiovascular disease, cancer and replantations of fingers, hands, etc.
Other areas where OUH is a leader are, for example, allergies, difficult wounds, diabetes, pediatrics, treatment of disorders of the esophagus, infectious diseases and arthritis and connective tissue diseases.
Doctors from several highly specialized departments often work together to treat one patient, and the idea of bringing several treatments together to reinforce a treatment offer has led to several center formations that have attracted attention, nationally and internationally.
