Pál Heim Children’s Hospital, Budapest is the largest children’s hospital in Hungary with a dedicated celiac disease center for the integrated care for celiac patients and their families. The Celiac Center accepts all sorts of symptomatic patients for clinical evaluation as well as asymptomatic persons coming for family screening and for the screening in associated conditions, perfoms the diagnostic procedures and regularly follows the diagnosed patients into adulthood.

Currently both children and adults are accepted. It also operates a specialised laboratory for the assessment of celiac antibodies which provides results for more than 15 hospitals in the central and western parts of the country. The Celiac Center is also active in research, has conducted national screenings and has participated in several international and European collaborative research projects.
