Bakkegården was built in 1908 and is Vejle’s oldest nursing home.

Bakkegården was expanded with another wing in 1969. Bakkegården has undergone several changes over the years.
In 1995, the oldest part of Bakkegården was renovated, and in 2004 the renovation of the 1969 extension was completed. There is now room for 61 residents in five wards.

In the spring of 2016, an orangery was built and inaugurated at Bakkegården, which everyone is welcome to use.
Heat has been installed in the orangery, which can thus be used all year round. It is a pure sensory experience to sit in the bright orangery and eat, drink coffee or just relax surrounded by plants.

Bakkegården also has a kitchen, café Blæksprutten and a day center. On Bakkegården’s 3rd floor, there are offices for Area West’s administration and an office for home care district V2 on the 3rd floor.

  salon is located at the Day Center, and the staff will be helpful in booking an appointment with the hairdresser you want to use.
