In 1936, PRETIS was established as a state-owned factory.
In 1948, the factory, which had been destroyed during World War II, was reestablished with the support of engineers who had preserved the technical and technological knowledge necessary for its revival.
Between 1948 and 1992, the PRETIS production program included artillery ammunition, mortar ammunition, tank ammunition, rockets, and aerial bombs. With 5,000 employees, the production volume for large-caliber artillery ammunition at that time reached 1,000,000 units annually.
From 1992 to 1995, the PRETIS factory was once again destroyed during the war.
Between 1995 and 2010, PRETIS focused on employee retention while beginning the reconstruction of the factory, reorganization of production lines, and importation of new equipment into production.
From 2010 to 2016, PRETIS consistently invested in the modernization of its production lines with the goal of increasing manufacturing capacity.
Today, PRETIS has a production capacity ranging from 300,000 to 500,000 units per year, depending on the type of product.
The company currently employs 351 people and has successfully preserved and advanced the technical knowledge and expertise of its workforce. Between 2016 and 2020, PRETIS d.d. entered a phase of reconstruction and modernization, aiming for continuous growth in its product range and restoration of its production capacity to the levels achieved in 1992, with a strong focus on the development of new products.
