The Public Enterprise for Market Maintenance and Service Provision “Tržnica” Bačka Topola, Karađorđeva bb. (abbreviated: PE “Tržnica” B.Topola) was established by the Decision of the Assembly of the Municipality of Bačka Topola on December 20, 2001.
The registered activity of PE “Tržnica” is: retail trade at stalls and markets. Within its registered activity, PE “Tržnica” performs the tasks of renting or using market stalls and market space, fairground space, and livestock market space, as well as renting or using business premises.
PE “Tržnica” conducts its activities on the market space – a city construction land in state ownership, parcel number 6595 k.o. B.Topola-city, with a total area of 8,830 square meters, leased under contract on August 25, 2006, under number 464-14/2006. Two market halls have been built on the market space, which are operational for the company’s business.
Furthermore, it also operates on the fairground space and livestock market in Bačka Topola based on the Decision of the Assembly of the Municipality of Bačka Topola regarding the trade of goods at markets and fairs (Official Gazette of Bačka Topola, no. 4/2003), under which decision PE “Tržnica” Bačka Topola manages the markets and fairs in Bačka Topola.
As part of its registered and entrusted activities, PE “Tržnica” also manages and maintains parking spaces adjacent to the northern and southern parts of the market area, which are used for market and fairground activities. (Temporarily leased under Agreement number 464-1/2014-V of January 13, 2014, and Annex no. 1 464-1/2014-V-1 of January 16, 2014.)
PE “Tržnica” is financed from its own revenue sources, and since its establishment, it has not used budget funds.
Mission
Daily engagement and motivation of employees to generate new ideas for expanding, improving, and modernizing available business capacities in order to:
- Provide sellers with optimal conditions to market their products and generate income, while offering consumers a wider selection in a competitive environment.
- Create an attractive environment and use all existing resources where consumers and vendors can enjoy a pleasant, stimulating, and easily accessible setting.
- Encourage smaller producers to offer original products with valuable food labels in these traditional spaces: regional brands, products with geographic origin labels, and organic food.
Vision
The future of retail markets (Tržnica) should focus on introducing new offerings:
- Higher-value and organic food
- Fresh fruits and vegetables (from known producers who are also vendors)
- Products that go from “field to table” within the same day.
- Build dialogue with target groups.
Therefore, in a global sense, the development projection of the market activity will be focused on:
- Enriching the offer
- Infrastructure improvement and equipment of the market in accordance with the Food Safety Law on one side
- Preserving their specificity on the other side.
Customers, consumers, and service users, collectively referred to as “Users,” represent the starting and ending points of the company’s activities. The business processes within the company will be structured in the coming years to increase value for the users.
