The Public Utility Company “Standard” Knjaževac was established on December 28, 1989, by the Decision on the Organization of the Work Organization for Communal Activities “Standard” Knjaževac as a public utility company.
Throughout its existence, the founding act has been frequently amended and aligned with legal regulations. The Decision on Amendments to the Founding Act of PUC “Standard” Knjaževac to comply with legal regulations (“Official Gazette of the Municipality” No. 23/2016), as well as the Decision on Amendments and Supplements to the Founding Act of PUC “Standard” Knjaževac to comply with legal regulations (“Official Gazette of the Municipality” No. 27/2016), and the Decision on Amendments and Supplements to the Decision on Amendments to the Founding Act of PUC “Standard” Knjaževac to comply with legal regulations (“Official Gazette of the Municipality” No. 28/2016), define the competencies and tasks entrusted by the founder.
The main activities of the Public Utility Company “Standard” are:
- Supply of drinking water,
- Purification and drainage of stormwater and wastewater,
- Management of municipal waste,
- Maintenance of cleanliness in public areas,
- Maintenance of public green spaces,
- Cemetery management and burial services,
- Market management,
- Management of public parking lots,
- Maintenance of streets and roads.
With the modernization of basic assets, the improvement of employee qualification structures, and the organization of the company, it is possible to perform an increasing number of complex tasks and enhance service quality.
In accordance with the Law on Public Enterprises, the management of PUC “Standard” is organized as a unicameral system, meaning that the governing bodies consist of a three-member supervisory board and the company director.
