The first Rudolf Steinerskole in Denmark, Vidarskolen, was founded in 1950 in Gentofte, where it is still housed. In 1955, the Aarhus School came into being, and then came Odense, Vordingborg, etc. Today there are 16 Steiner schools in Denmark. All the schools are members of the Danish Free School Association, which looks after the interests of the Free Schools vis-à-vis the authorities. In addition, the Rudolf Steiner schools have a joint secretariat, where common matters are discussed, but each of the 16 schools is an autonomous financial and administrative unit. Once a year, the Danish Rudolf Steiner schools hold a joint teachers’ meeting to continue working on the common pedagogical basis in mutual inspiration.
Welcome to the Rudolf Steiner School in Aarhus.
We are a grade- and trial-free free school as well as a private high school with approx. 480 students distributed from the kindergarten class to 2nd HF. Beautifully located with the beach and forest as the nearest neighbors. We are here because we can promote and develop the individual child’s dormant abilities, its desire to learn both in school and in life. A development that creates the whole person. Whole people who want to live and take part in a society with freedom and democracy based on a love of the world.
