Šabac

The municipality and the city of Sabac cover the northern part of northeastern Serbia. The geographical position of the municipality is very favorable because it is located on important traffic routes: road, rail and river, and is close to major cities in Belgrade and Novi Sad. The municipality of Sabac covers an area of ​​795 km2 and has 122,320 inhabitants. The city, with its suburbs, has about 70,000 inhabitants. The basic economic potentials are quality land suitable for all types of agricultural production, and the waters of the Sava and Drina rivers favor the development of numerous industries; industry, water management, agriculture, river transport and tourism. The city of Sabac has always been a very rich cultural center of Podrinje and the wider area.

Climatic characteristics

The area of ​​Šabac has a temperate continental climate. Due to its openness to the Pannonian lowlands, its lowland services in the north are under the influence of the continental climate of Pannonian A hilly Mountain jug and the Southwest up to 700 m above sea level under the influence of the mountain climate. Precipitation is a very important climatic element. In addition to air temperatures, they are extremely
important for the survival of the plant world. The amount, as well as the annual and territorial distribution of precipitation are different. Precipitation is increasing from northeast to south and southwest.

Sabac on the banks of the Sava River, and the municipality also flows out on the Drina River, interconnected by a canal network and a wealth of underground, drinking geothermal waters. Road connected, near Belgrade and Novi Sad, Loznica, Valjevo, Bijeljina – we can say in the center of the region.
