The SFO is divided into two rooms. The spring school and 0th grade are based on Lille Stue, and 1st and 2nd grade are based on a large living room. There is common access for everyone in the hallways, in the playroom and in our large kitchen.
In the basement, 3rd – 5th graders live in the club with sofas, TV, Playstation and music system. The club is still under construction.
We offer different activities every day with creative workshops, music, cooking, outdoor and indoor games, table football, Xbox and much more.
Every six months, an activity calendar is prepared for trips out of the house, where we, among other things, go to the ice rink, bowling alley, Jumping Fun and visit various playgrounds in the local area.
Sct. Albani School’s SFO and club is based on professional pedagogical practice based on the appreciative approach with a focus on the children’s motivation and well-being. With us, safe and fun communities are formed through various versatile activities that are facilitated by professionally skilled and committed employees.
The Catholic school in Odense was established by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1868 under the name Sct. Mariæ School. From its early years, the school was naturally affiliated with the city’s Catholic congregation as a parish school. Since 1899, priests from the worldwide order Redemptorists have been attached to the Catholic congregation on Funen. Pater Steidl (1873 – 1946), who in the period from 1899 to 1909 in addition to being a priest in the congregation was also both school leader and teacher in the parish school, bought in 1905 with the school’s development in mind a bankrupt property in Adelgade 5 for DKK 19,000. Adelgade was decorated in 1910 and has been expanded several times since. The Catholic Church’s first church in Odense, Sct. Mariæ Church, which from 1870 was located on Albani Torv, was demolished in 1906 to make room for the new church, Sct. Albani Church, consecrated October 25, 1908. When the new church was built, the name of the school was changed to Sct. Albani School.[1]
Sct. On 1 January 2014, the Albani School passed from being owned by the Redemptorist Order with regional headquarters in Vienna to being a self-governing institution with a board as the supreme decision-making body. The school board consists of a total of five members, two of whom are elected by the parent group. The other three members are appointed by resp. the bishop of the Catholic Church in Denmark, the Order of the Redemptorists and of the parish council at Sct. Albani Kirke.
