“Ski resorts of Montenegro” is a company established for the management of new ski resorts: “Kolašin 1600” already built, as well as ski centers “Cmiljača”, “Žarski”, “Torine”, “Jelovica”, mountain center “Komovi” and Eco adventure park Komovi which are under construction.
The general concept of development of “Ski Resorts of Montenegro” reflects in the valorisation of existing active ski resorts and the construction of new ski centers in the area of Bjelasica and Komovi, Durmitor and Hajla, all in accordance with Spatial Plans of special purpose for those areas.
According to the special purpose spatial plan for Bjelasica and Komovi, more accommodation units at tle locations of the ski centers it is planned to be built. The plan predicts a total of 224 kilometres of ski trails on Bjelasica, which will be covered by 52 ski lifts – chairlifts, with 52 hotels, 23 apartment-type boarding houses (condo hotels, apartments, etc.), 1 hostel and 1 mountain lodge. The establishment of the Ski Resort of Montenegro is a key prerequisite for the initiation and successful management of sites where have been significant funding in infrastructure facilities in the previous period.

Ski center Kolašin 1600 is already very well positioned on a map of all winter sport lovers. But this center can be rightfully called a central point of summer offer in Montenegrin mountains. Base station is located on 1600 meters above sea level. This is also a starting point of six-seated detachable chair lift. Here you can find restaurant and cafe bar “Troglava” where ,365 days a year, you can try various national dishes originating from Bjelasica region, as well as international dishes, hot and cold beverages etc. The youngest visitors of ours can have fun and enjoy in fresh air in our outdoor game room “Bambi” that stretches for 300 square meters. Magical panoramic ride and basking in a mountain vista in silence leads you up to the 2035 meters above sea level. During summer time in cone tree oasis we organize all kind of sport and cultural activities and manifestations. Some of them to mention are: basketball tournament organized by 3×3, Teqball tournament, Bjelasica Ultra Trail marathon, outdoor old-timers showroom, bazaar day, outdoor cinema, art colonies, literal nights and many others.
The importance of the project
Montenegro, with its gorgeous Adriatic Sea, guarded by rivers with unique canyons, clear lakes, and proud mountains, will has recently brought the coastline closer to the mountainous region in the most beautiful way possible. The beauties of Montenegro are breathtaking for tourists and at first encounter, every traveler stays in love with Montenegro. It is a fact that Montenegro has significant tourism development potentials, which is why the Government of Montenegro places investments in infrastructure development in the Northern region in its strategic priorities of the country’s development.
The Government of Montenegro is working day-to-day to improve the infrastructure to ensure access to all ski resorts of our country. What is of special importance to the entire Bjelasica ski resort is the construction of the Bar-Boljari Highway, that is, the Podgorica-Mateševo priority section, which enables visitors to reach ski center Kolašin 1600 in half an hour from the Capital of Podgorica, or 45 minutes from the Podgorica Airport. Construction of the highway, which was officialy opened on July 13th 2022., provides excellent connectivity with the region.

We must not neglect the fact that guests coming from distant markets during their stay in our country mainly use excursion programs while touring the whole country. This is the fastest and at the same time, the most beautiful way to connect the mountain with the sea, hence our residents and tourists will have the great privilege to breathe the fresh mountain air and enjoy the magic of the Adriatic in a single day. Tourists are able to reach the ski center in Kolašin within half an hour from the capital city. Completion of the construction of the highway is the turning point in the development of Montenegrin tourism, for both – transport and market connection, as well as for more intense economic development of Montenegro and the region.

Ski centers
Kolašin
The ski center has been named after the elevation of the starting point of the six-seated detachable cable car, and the location of the base station where the 5-star restaurant Troglava 5* is located. Restaurant Troglava 4* has been built in the spirit of contemporary mountain ambiance with a capacity of 400 seats. The cuisine in the restaurant is based on traditional Montenegrin dishes prepared in the authentic way of the Bjelasica Region. The fresh mountain air with homemade wine and local products leaves no one indifferent. On the ground level of the base station, there is a cafe bar where guests can enjoy hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The cafe bar serves a complete lower terrace of the base station where music concerts and other cultural entertainment programs are organized very often.
The ski center also offers a ski school and what is very important for all beginners is that they learn the proper techniques of these disciplines during the learning process. Experienced instructors introduce all beginners to the world of skiing and snowboarding so that this sporting discipline becomes a structural part of their lives. Bearing that in mind, ski center Kolašin 1600 included the services of a ski school in its offer, as well as the ski draglift. Within the base station of the ski center, there is also a ski rental, which is equipped with skiing and snowboarding equipment. Employees will quickly and efficiently serve all visitors of the ski center who need equipment. If guests should need additional consultations regarding equipment selection, they can additionally contact the ski rental staff who will listen to them carefully and kindly provide them with useful advice. In the vicinity of the ski center Kolašin 1600, at the location of the future base location the construction of ten hotels and apartment-type objects is planned, construction of the first two hotels has already begun. Additionally, at the ski center Kolašin 1450, the construction of four hotels is in progress. According to the Spatial Plan for Special Purpose for the Bjelasica and Komovi Region, another six hotels and apartment-type objects are envisaged to be built in this base location. In addition, construction of the Bar-Boljari Highway, more exactly, the priority section Podgorica-Mateševo, which was put into operation last July, enables reaching the Bjelasica ski center region in half an hour from the Capital of Podgorica, or 45 minutes from the Podgorica Airport, is of special importance for the ski centers Kolašin 1600 and Kolašin 1450. more
Cmiljača
Cmiljača is a katun (summer cottage) on Mount Bjelasica, after which this future ski center Cmiljača was named. The base area of the future ski center is at an elevation of 1,570 m and is located 14 km from the town of Bijelo Polje. Cmiljača is the third state ski resort being built in the series of planned new ski centers. This ski center will also be managed by the Ski Resorts of Montenegro. more
Žarski
Ski center Žarski is the second ski center in a series of new ski centers that are being built by the Special Purpose Spatial Plan for Bjelasica and Komovi. On the right bank of the Tara River lies the Bjelasica Massif with gentle elevations, high peaks, and mountain springs. On this side of the Bjelasica Mountain, which has long been a meeting point for mountaineers from various parts of the region, the Žarski ski center is under construction. It is this part of Bjelasica that represents the greatest potential for the development of ski tourism. The greatest value of such development of the Bjelasica Mountain is that it is an environmentally sound and sustainable solution. On this spot, nature has made everything on its own, meaning that terrain configuration is ideal for the construction of ski slopes. The future trails are covered with grass and only 15 cm of snow is enough for skiing. Their exposure and location, as well as the duration of snow cover, fully meet basic tourist standards. more
Jelovica
Ski center Jelovica, the fifth planned ski center on the mountain Bjelasica, is situated on the location of the municipalities of Berane and Andrijevica. The base area of this ski center lies at an altitude of 1,330 m. Although close to urban areas, Jelovica is a mountainous place with beautiful nature and is an oasis for people looking for relaxation. more
Torine
Ski Center Torine, an area in the northeastern part of the Bjelasica Mountain, is 25 km away from the town of Bijelo Polje. This place is known for the most important archaeological site in Montenegro – Radman gorge, with the famous walled cave. It covers an area of 1,399 ha and is characterized by undulating mountain terrains. It is bordered on the west by the canyon of the river Bistrica, and on the north and east by steep slopes. more
