The State Heart Hospital of Balatonfüred, as the largest cardiac rehabilitation institute in the country, is actively involved in the rehabilitation of myocardial infarction, heart surgery and chronic heart patients. In addition to risk stratification of patients, the institute uses a wide range of secondary prevention procedures such as personalized training programs, diet, weight loss, smoking cessation, medication, and psychotherapy as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program. The advantage of institutional rehabilitation is that it can be started early after the acute event and provides a controlled transition period for more severe, older patients from the early stage to the home, maintenance, stable phase of rehabilitation.
