The Lexum Eye Clinic Network has been caring for the eyesight of its clients since 1993. At the beginning of 2014, the Lexum Eye Clinic Network became part of the Optegra Holdings Limited group, which provides comprehensive ophthalmic care. The multinational company Optegra currently owns and operates a network of other clinics in the United Kingdom and Poland. 

Patients’ rights Lexum Eye Clinic Network


1. Health services may be provided to the patient only with his free and informed consent. The patient is entitled to obtain from healthcare professionals all the information necessary to be able to freely decide whether to consent to further treatment or diagnostic procedures. The patient has the right to be informed about alternative treatments.


2. The patient has the right to the provision of health services at the appropriate professional level. The patient is also entitled to request consulting services from another health care provider or another health care professional than the one who provides him with health services.


3. When providing health services, the patient has the right to respect, dignified treatment, consideration and respect for privacy in the provision of health services in accordance with the nature of the health services provided.


4. The patient has the right to know the name and surname of health professionals and other professionals directly involved in the provision of health services, as well as persons preparing for the provision of the medical profession at the provider, if they are present during the provision of health services to the patient. The patient is entitled to refuse the presence of persons who are not directly involved in the provision of health services and persons preparing for the exercise of the medical profession.


5. The patient has the right to be informed in advance about the price of provided health services not covered or partially covered by public health insurance and the method of their payment.


6. Every patient shall be entitled to the presence of a close person or a person designated by the patient, provided that such presence does not interfere with the provision of health services or create an epidemiological or safety risk.


7. If the patient is a minor, he or she is entitled to the continuous presence of a legal representative, or a person designated by the legal representative, a foster parent or another person to whose care the patient has been entrusted.


8. A patient deprived of legal capacity has the right to the continuous presence of a legal representative, or a person designated by the legal representative.


9. A patient with communication or health restrictions has the right to adequate support from all staff involved in the provision of health services.


10. The patient has the right to express dissatisfaction with the course of health services provided in writing (to mail: lexum@lexum.cz) or orally (in person at any reception, or by phone at 800 22 66 55).
