FREE SCHOOL, BALLET & DANCE SCHOOL UNDER ONE ROOF

The Royal Theater Ballet School Odense is a modern free school with a profile of cultural institution. The school offers a unique basic education in classical ballet and modern dance in an innovative learning environment, where dance, education and book education dance together.

At the Ballet School, schooling (we call it Reading School) and dance / ballet lessons take place in the same place, but are divided to create clarity about the academic and artistic part. It works really well for the students. This means that they know when there is dance / ballet and when there is book teaching. In addition to a basic education as a dancer, the students also get a schooling that corresponds to the primary school. The school has two lines, a Ballet Line and a Dance Line. Read below about these.

The Royal Theater Ballet School Odense has students from 0th grade to 9th grade. From 0.-4. class we also offer SFO

To be admitted to the school, you must pass an entrance exam.  
The nursery has its own entrance exam, it is usually in October of the year before school starts, to make room for school choices. The entrance exam is common for the Dance Line and the Ballet Line, it is the school management who decides which line the student should go on. 

We are a department of the Royal Theater, which has 3 Ballet Schools respectively. in Copenhagen , Odense and Holstebro . Together with our association, the Academy of Modern Dance and Classical Ballet , we also offer a Dance Basic Education (AMOK-DGU). The education at the Ballet School Odense can therefore stretch from pre-school / 0. class to 4.g.

We also have the leisure offer AMOK-Fritid with teaching for children, young people and adults of all ages.

Together we are one ensemble, one Compagni Karma. The Royal Theater Ballet School Odense has three lines:

• Gartneriet   
  Førskole, 0.-2. class. Preparatory primary school in classical ballet and modern dance
• The ballet line  
  3.-6. class. Preparatory primary school in classical ballet for the Royal Ballet Ballet  line
• Dance line 
  3.-6. class. Preparatory primary school in modern dance and classical ballet
  7.-9. class. High school preparatory * primary school in classical ballet and modern dance.

A MAGICAL EVERYDAY LIFE
It is very special to be a student at the Ballet School. It is a world of dance and movement – with homework, costumes and adventures and with training, rehearsals and performances. Becoming a ballet or modern dancer is an education full of experiences and opportunities. For some, it may be a choice for life. Through teaching, elementary school students are prepared for a life as professional performing artists. But already now they are conveying the dance. The Royal Theater Ballet School Odense performs several times a year with performances and workshops and creates joy and unique experiences for our audience and students.
