The hospital employs approximately 3360 medical and non-medical staff members (approx. 600 medical doctors and 1500 healthcare workers).
The hospital is a 1316-bed facility.
Approximately 60,000 patients are treated annually. More than 390,000 outpatients are treated at 270 different outpatient clinics.
The Medical Emergency Unit is a professionally and organizationally homogeneous unit providing non-stop 24-hour medical care to ill and injured people.

Visiting Hours
Visiting hours at the departments/divisions of University Medical Centre Maribor is uniform:
- Monday to Friday from 4pm to 5pm
- Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 2pm to 3pm.
Visiting hours at the dislocated Department of Pulmonary Disease on Slivniško Pohorje:
- Monday to Friday from 4pm to 5pm, Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 2pm to 3pm.
Visits outside of regular visitation schedule are possible only with a written permission by the treating physician and the use of a special identification card, which a visitor receives from the department’s professional head of nursing (chief nursing officer).
