The University of Huelva is a public university in Huelva, Spain. It was founded in 1993.
«The University of Huelva is created, which will be governed by Organic Law 11/83, of August 25, on University Reform by Law 1/92, of May 21, Coordination of the University System of Andalusia, by this Law, by the regulations that develop them and by their statutes.
«This Law creates the University of Huelva conceived as an instrument of social transformation, which guides and leads the economic and cultural development of Huelva society, providing it with the appropriate professionals through the teachings that best respond to its industrial, historical and cultural profile ».

DECLARATION
The University of Huelva is an institution at the service of society that, within the framework of constitutional values, and as a public law entity, endowed with legal personality, fulfills its purposes and performs its functions, in accordance with current legislation, in autonomy regime (art. 1 Provisional regulations).
PURPOSES
The University of Huelva is responsible for providing the public service of higher education, through study, teaching and research, having to promote the integral training of its own members, the values of justice, freedom and pluralism, as well as thought and free and critical research, to be an effective instrument of transformation and social progress. The University of Huelva is at the service of the intellectual and material development of the peoples, of the defense of the environment and of peace (art. 2.1 Provisional regulations).
FUNCTIONS
The University of Huelva has to fulfill the following functions:
The creation, development, dissemination and criticism of science, technology and culture.
Preparation for the exercise of professional activities that require the application of technical or scientific knowledge and methods and for literary or artistic creation.
Scientific and technical support for cultural, social and economic development, with special attention to that of Huelva and that of the Andalusian Autonomous Community. The extension of the university culture (art. 2.2 Provisional regulations).
BEGINNING
The activity of the University of Huelva. as well as its autonomy, it is based on the principle of academic freedom that is manifested in the freedom of the chair, teaching, research and studies (art. 4 Provisional regulations).
