Park Hospital

Finland

Park Hospital , former Children’s Clinic , is a hospital building belonging to the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) in Helsinki in the area of Meilahti Hospital.

Due to the curved shape of the building, it was also proposed as the Arch Hospital. Adult surgery departments will be located on the Pacius Street side of the building . It houses breast surgery , plastic surgery , vascular surgery , treatment of oral and maxillofacial diseases, and clinical physiology.

Departments and outpatient clinics

The children’s clinic had the following units:

  • Q1: Infection Department.
    • The ward had 16 patient beds, 1 intensive care facility, and 10 patient rooms. Approximately 1,500 patients were treated annually.
  • Q2: Department of Pediatrics

In addition, there were two rooms for children in the better stages of the disease. There were also two rooms on the cytostatic side. In total, there were a total of 15 rooms for hundreds of patients. Department K10 came to the attention of the general public in the 1980s through a TV program made by Mirja Pyykö .
  • S10: Cytostatic compartment
    • The opening of Department S10 in the spring of 2011 was a significant step forward for activities that had suffered from overcrowding for years, but nevertheless achieved peak results. The pediatric clinic then had two cancer wards: K10 and S10. The new ward S10 provided cytostatic treatments to children with cancer and treated children with benign blood disorders. Children with solid malignancy and leukemia patients receiving standard cytostatic regimens were the largest patient groups. A significant part of S10’s operations were day hospital operations. With the new ward, the number of nursing staff in the pediatric cancer wards increased by 11.
