About Us
The Public Utility Company Gradska groblja Visoko was established by the Decision of the Municipal Assembly of Visoko in 1984 as a Communal Work Organization for burials and cemetery management. In 1990, in accordance with the Law on Public Enterprises, it changed its name and status, and has since existed as a public utility company.
By the decision of the Municipal Court in Zenica, No. U/I-2421/05 dated October 11, 2006, the Public Utility Company Gradska groblja d.o.o. changed its status to Public Utility Company Gradska groblja d.o.o. Visoko.
The primary activity of JKP Gradska groblja Visoko is the provision of funeral services and maintenance of public green areas. Accordingly, its operations are organized and divided into departments, i.e., work units of special social interest and work units that conduct their business on commercial principles.
In line with the ongoing trend of development and expansion of its activities, work at JKP Gradska groblja d.o.o. Visoko is carried out in five operational units, namely:
- Funeral Services Unit
- City Greenery Unit
- Stonemasonry Unit
- Public Parking Unit
- Professional/Expert Services Unit
Today, JKP Gradska groblja d.o.o. Visoko is a modern company that relies on elements of tradition while utilizing contemporary achievements.
Funeral Services
The Funeral Services Unit is the main division of JKP Gradska groblja d.o.o. Visoko and is considered of special social importance. It operates based on principles of humanity and respect for the deceased, while honoring religious and traditional customs.
The unit is fully equipped with modern facilities, including a mortuary with refrigerated chambers, autopsy rooms, a pathology and forensic medicine department, and a fleet of specialized funeral vehicles.
Services include:
- Preparation of the deceased according to religious customs and family wishes
- Organizing funerals at the City Cemetery in Visoko and other cemeteries across Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Receiving and storing the deceased in the mortuary
- Sale of funeral supplies
- Transport of the deceased by road and air, domestically and internationally
- Autopsies and external examinations
- Exhumation and reburial of remains
- Additional related services
The unit also operates a “tow-truck service” for removing improperly parked vehicles, under official orders.
Staff are professionally trained, and the unit has received multiple recognitions for its expertise. Citizens can join the City Burial Society, which offers simplified procedures and free burial services for members.
City Greenery
JKP Gradska groblja has a long tradition of cultivating a wide variety of ornamental plants. In its own greenhouses and nurseries, experienced gardeners grow decorative flowers and shrubs, seasonal flowers, perennials, indoor plants, and cut flowers.
The staff of the City Greenery Unit are happy to provide:
- Flower arrangements for any occasion
- Expert literature on plant cultivation and care
- Plant nutrients and protective products
Horticulture specialists are also available to help you choose plants for your garden and provide free advice on landscaping and improving your outdoor environment.
