Even today, Romainville reveals to its visitors an architectural and cultural heritage testifying to several centuries of history. The city of Paris has been able to showcase its past while resolutely turning towards modernity and the 21st century.
Romainville is a French commune located in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis in the region Île-de-France . This town borders on Les Lilas , Montreuil , Bagnolet , Noisy-le-Sec and Pantin . It is located in the district of Bobigny . Its inhabitants are called the Romainvilloises and the Romainvillois.

Places and monuments
- The Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois church in Romainville , in neoclassical style built by the architect Brongniart , classified as a historic monument;
- The town hall, built in 1873 by Lequeux , enlarged in 1905 and 1993. The large park of the castle, which at the time of its splendor included an orangery and a music pavilion, was used as a gypsum quarry , and the excavations reach 60 mdepth. After the death of the Marquis de Noailles in 1838, the château was sold by his son to an English gypsum company, and part of it was razed in 1840. The rest became “the office of the quarry management”. The building, after having been acquired by the city in 1988, was bought by the Region to make it a place of leisure. Very dilapidated, it unfortunately suffered a fire again in the month ofaugust 2010and its ruins were razed in early 2017. A square in front of the old castle has opened to the public.
- The Saint-Luc-des-Grands-Champs church in Romainville, built in 1933 by the Oeuvre des Chantiers du Cardinal on plans by A. Monestès, in reinforced concrete and brick facing. It remained unfinished, the original plans providing for the creation of a third bay and a bell tower.
- The Sainte-Solange chapel , rue Louise-Dory, designed by the architect Venner.
- Le Trianon cinema , in the “ocean liner” style , opened in 1929 and rebuilt in 1953 by architect Charles Genetre.
- The anti-noise wall of Romainville, architectural work of Garry Faif (sculptor, architect and urban planner born in 1942 and died in 2002), created in 1992 to reduce over 200 meters long noise pollution from the A3 motorway but which was partially destroyed to cover downstream part of the adjoining highway .
- The Corniche des Forts leisure island will be the twelfth leisure island in the Île-de-France region . Formerly an “outdoor and leisure center” included in the 2000-2006 plan contract , it is located in the towns of Pantin , Les Lilas , Noisy-le-Sec and Romainville. Located on old gypsum quarries , this project consists of creating new leisure areas with sports courses, climbing wall, pony club, children’s games, relaxation and walking areas, eco-grazing area.
