The Gyor Janos Xantus Museum in tax abbot-house in 1741 – 1742 in Sajghó Benedict Pannonhalma built by the abbot. The magnificent Baroque palace became the home of the museum in 1949 . Named after the institute, János Xántus, a naturalist, traveler and ethnographer, attended school in Győr . T
The museum’s valuable collection is approx. It kicks in at 60,000 pieces and has grown greatly in recent years. The excavation excavation during the construction of the highway through the county enriched it with many Roman , migratory and Avar materials. It also has a significant collection of guild , numismatic and tile stoves .
