Haukilahti water tower

Haukilahti Water Tower is a concrete-built water tower completed in 1968 in Haukilahti , Espoo . The tower was designed by architect Erkko Virkkunen and M.Sc. Ilmari Hyppänen . It is owned by the Helsinki Region Environmental Services (HSY), the consortium’s water supply organization ; before 2010, it was owned by the municipal enterprise Espoo Vesi . The tower has two nested water tanks with a total water volume of 4,100 cubic meters. The height of the water tower from the lower entrance level to the top of the water roof is about 46 meters and from the sea level about 76 meters.

At the top of the tower, the view restaurant Haikaranpesä has been operating on top of the water tanks since 1969. The restaurant organized so-called Disco Nights until 1987, but has since profiled itself more as a bespoke restaurant and a lunch spot for corporate customers.
