City park Valkenberg

Until 1812, the Valkenberg served as a castle garden for the Lords of Breda. It owes its name to a falcon house that stood on the edge and from which the castle residents and their guests carried out falcon hunting.

In the past, the park was only accessible to the castle residents and their guests. Today it is a wonderful meeting place.

Students seek the sun or the shade of the centuries-old trees. Fathers and mothers let their children play in the playground. And dozens of chickens, geese and rabbits have made the park their home.

The Valkenberg Park is also regularly the setting for atmospheric events.
