The company FeMIS d.o.o. was founded in 2003, with its headquarters in Posušje.
Our company specializes in the production of reinforcement meshes. To ensure precision and reliability in our manufacturing process, we use equipment from leading global producers such as KOCH (Germany) and EVG (Austria). For product quality testing, we rely on advanced laboratory equipment supplied by the Swiss manufacturer walter+bai ag.
In addition to reinforcement meshes, our product range includes reinforcement stirrups, steel spacers for formwork, as well as ribbed concrete steel, lattice girders, and various types of spacers for reinforcement meshes.
FeMIS d.o.o. is certified according to the international standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14000, which set recognized benchmarks for quality and environmental management systems. These certifications assure our clients that all our operations and products meet the highest standards of consistency, safety, and environmental responsibility. Furthermore, FeMIS d.o.o. holds a certificate for reinforcement meshes for the Croatian market, awarded by the Croatian Civil Engineering Institute (IGH).
The main activity of our company is the production of reinforcement meshes.
Reinforcement Meshes
Reinforcement meshes are the main product of FeMIS d.o.o., with an annual production capacity exceeding 15,000 tons. For the production of machine-welded reinforcement meshes, we use ribbed steel wire obtained through a cold-rolling process. All production processes are carried out on highly productive and fully automated machinery.
In the first stage of production, we employ a cold-rolling machine from the German manufacturer KOCH, while in the second stage, welding is performed on equipment supplied by the Austrian manufacturer EVG. Reinforcement meshes are used as a finished product for reinforcing concrete structures.
The standard dimensions of reinforcement meshes are 6.00 x 2.15 m. Technical specifications of standard meshes are presented in the tables. The spacing of longitudinal and transverse wires (bars) must not be less than 50 mm, while the overlap should not be less than 25 mm.
Permissible tolerances for reinforcement meshes:
- Mesh length and width: ±25 mm or ±0.5% (the greater value applies)
- Wire spacing: ±15 mm or ±0.7% (the greater value applies)
- Overlaps: must be agreed upon at the time of inquiry and order
Special requirements for permissible deviations can be arranged between the manufacturer and the customer.
Ribbed Reinforcing Steel
Ribbed reinforcing steel is supplied in bar form with lengths of 6.00 m and 12.00 m. The bars are bundled with a total weight of up to 2,500 kg.
In addition, ribbed reinforcing steel is also delivered in coils, available in diameters of Ø 8, Ø 10, Ø 12, Ø 14, and Ø 16 mm.
Spacers for Reinforcement Meshes
Spacers for reinforcement meshes are embedded elements placed on the lower reinforcement mesh to ensure the correct height and position of the upper reinforcement mesh during construction. The installation spacing is s = 600 mm.
They are manufactured using smooth steel wire of B500 A quality, with a tensile strength of 650 – 750 N/mm².
FeMIS d.o.o. carries out factory production control and testing in accordance with the requirements of EUROCODE 2.
Formwork System Elements
Steel spacers for formwork are manufactured from cold-rolled steel strip of FE360 quality. The tensile strength of the steel strip ranges from 700 N/mm² to 800 N/mm².
The steel strip is tested in accordance with EN 10204 2.2, and an inspection certificate is issued for each batch.
Reinforcement Stirrups
Reinforcement stirrups are manufactured from ribbed reinforcing steel of B500A quality. Production is carried out on a highly precise, fully automated machine from the renowned Italian manufacturer MEP GROUP, which enables the bending of stirrups in all possible dimensions and shapes according to customer requirements, using wire diameters from Ø 6 mm to Ø 12 mm.
The table presents the standard reinforcement stirrup products, while all other dimensions and shapes are produced upon request.
Lattice Beams
A lattice (binor) beam consists of two longitudinal bars in the lower chord and one in the upper chord, connected by diagonal wires through resistance spot welding. The lattice beam is a structural element that, due to its rigidity, offers exceptional load-bearing capacity.
Because of its high strength, ease of installation, and significant savings in time and materials during assembly, the lattice beam has become an indispensable element in the construction of floor and roof structures.
Production and Quality Control
All production processes at FeMIS d.o.o. are continuously monitored by the Product Quality Testing Department.
For the manufacture of machine-welded reinforcement meshes, ribbed steel wire obtained through a cold-rolling process is used. The steel grade of welded reinforcement meshes is B500A. Testing is conducted in accordance with the standards HRN EN 10080:2012 and HRN 1130-4:2008, using an electromechanical testing machine from the Swiss manufacturer walter+bai ag.
